Visa Accept surfaces cardholders who are already transacting commercially but not registered as businesses.
Acquire seller relationships with minimal onboarding friction
Issuers can enable acceptance using existing Visa Debit or Prepaid credentials and existing KYC, avoiding the cost and drop‑off associated with traditional merchant onboarding.
Increase card usage and balances

- Is intended as an on‑ramp, not a replacement, for acquiring
Sellers who outgrow Visa Accept are expected to transition to full merchant acquiring via client -led processes.

Sellers enroll using an eligible Visa Debit or reloadable Prepaid credential issued by the participating issuer. Onboarding relies on existing KYC performed for the underlying account; no separate merchant underwriting is required at entry unless regulation requires. KYB can be added as an additional requirement if desired.

Visa will handle the heavy lifting, providing the infrastructure including Visa Accept service layer, payment orchestration and end to end UI/UX.
All necessary tools to launch Visa Accept are bundled within the Visa Accept SDK
The issuers is responsible for the operations and the requirements are:
Visa Digital Platform Term of use Agreement - Terms of use via Visa Digital Platform VDP and e-comm tokenization required
Funds availability - The bank must support Fast Fund: Visa Direct OCT & AFT for refund.
Regulation compliance - Bank must ensure their Visa Accept implementation is compliant with applicable laws, and regulations.

Visa Accept includes differentiated IRF and Visa fees designed to support low‑cost seller acceptance at entry level. Cross‑border transactions apply standard published rates.

Visa Accept follows standard Visa dispute flows, with program‑specific dispute treatment applied. Issuers remain the primary point of contact for sellers.
Minimum dispute amount:
Effective 24 October 2026, Visa Accept applies a minimum dispute amount of USD 25 (or local currency equivalent) for both domestic and cross‑border transactions. This reduces low‑value dispute operational burden for issuers.
There are three situations where an issuer retains the right to dispute regardless of transaction size:
1. Incorrect amount charged — different from what was agreed or displayed.
2. Duplicate processing or the buyer paid through another method and was charged again.
3. Credit Not Processed

Visa Accept includes automated monitoring. Seller access may be suspended when dispute or fraud thresholds are exceeded, enabling issuers to investigate and take appropriate action.
